Smoothies are the perfect meal or snack no matter what!
It is never a bad time to have an awesome smoothie! Since smoothies are such a tasty way to pack in a ton of nutrients in your diet.
Smoothies do make it easy to pack in all the nutrients of your favorite produce into one drinkable cup—which is great when you’re busy on the go or short on time.
Smoothies can easily “fit” into a healthy day of eating. But even more importantly, they can be a very delicious, refreshing, and totally enjoyable. It is good to have all organic and fresh ingredients for the best potential.
Making a smoothie is as simple as tossing ingredients in a blender and letting it rip, but we want to make sure you succeed every time, so here’s our exact process:
If you are adding greens (kale, spinach, celery...), this is the time to toss them in.
Add in your frozen fruits and vegetables if you want your smoothie cold.. I like frozen berries, mangos and peaches but any frozen fruit works!
Add any fresh fruits or veggies you’d like to use. Here is where you’ll toss in fresh ginger, turmeric, pineapple, cucumber, lemon an avocado half.
Top it off with your favorite nutrition mix-ins: green powder, protein powder, collagen, chia seeds, and turmeric— whatever you’d like to boost the nutrition of the smoothie.
Add liquid to your blender. I typically use unsweetened coconut milk, but you could use any other kind of milk, fruit juice. I prefer just filtered water!
Blend away! I like to start my blender on low and then slowly up to full speed. I blend until the smoothie looks silky. And then enjoy.
All of these smoothies here use banana as a base. If you don’t like the bananas add an avocado or a cup of plain creamy kefir or yoghurt. You can use one or two bananas depending on the calories you want to get. If you add 3 fruits and 2 veggies or greens should be sweet enough.
My recommendation is to blend up your smoothie without any added sweetener, then taste.
Add in raw honey or maple syrup to taste.
Another great natural option for sweetening: pitted dates.
All smoothies are gluten free and the best choice is to make them from organic ingredients.
To make the smoothie vegan use plant based milk or yoghurt (coconut yoghurt)
Green smoothies sound (and, honestly, look) like they wouldn’t taste the greatest, but if you do them right...
